HEALTHCARE
HEALTH COVERAGE Technically, healthcare on Mars is free for all. The government runs and funds all hospital systems. However, the wealthy elite still manage to receive higher quality care using their connections with government leaders and under the table payments. HOSPITAL CARE Hospitals on Mars are completely different than any healthcare facility on Earth. Due to the close living situations of most people on Mars, infectious diseases are a very large problem and concern. In order to combat this, full head to toe gowns and masks are required for all hospital employees and visitors. This is not a large problem because most hospital employees aren’t human at all. Robots perform most of the tasks in all healthcare facilities on Mars including checking people in, assessing patients, taking vitals, recording data, performing surgery, and advising patient procedures. The humans that work in the hospitals are mostly present to fix any machine complications or to intervene in the rare case that a human is needed for a procedure or assessment. There are usually only 1-2 doctors working in an entire hospital at one time. The healthcare system is very streamlined and efficient due to reduced human error. As a result, the cost of healthcare is 90% less than prices found on Earth. HEALTH OF THE POPULATION Humans on Mars are generally very healthy and when there is an issue it is usually resolved very efficiently. Unfortunately, some people’s bodies do better than others with life on Mars. Some people have bad reactions to the different elements and gases on Mars and have to be medicated to treat this for most of their lives. Reviews of the hospital system are usually very good and it is one of the most well run branches of the government. |
